This page should help with your planning for school holidays and the like. We have listed every council area for 2026/28. As we’re sure you’re aware, the holiday dates don’t change that often but we’ll keep our eye open and make any necessary changes. Maybe bookmark this page and come back regularly.
We have also put direct links to the relevant council site for their official calendar. Just click on the dates, below the names of the council, to be taken to the school year you need.
We have organised this page slightly differently to most timetables, telling you when the actual holidays start and finish (not including weekend). So they tend to run Monday to Friday, depending on the individual school authority.
These are HOLIDAY DATES and not term times.
Finally, remember individual schools have their own schedule of in-service, teacher training days etc.

School term dates make provision for 195 school days. Within these 195 days, schools are allowed to close for six days for training purposes. You should contact your child’s school for information about the days on which they will close for training purposes.
Occasionally schools have to close as a result of bad weather or unavoidable emergencies such as loss of utility services. A message about school closures will appear on this website – HERE.
