There is something about A Food Festival we love here in South Wales. After the last couple of years, and a slow introduction back into the world, there is even more to love about the SWANSEA STREET FOOD FESTIVAL which is set to make a return over the Easter weekend of the 15th April.
After the virus that must not be named cancelled the festival for the past two years, they are ready to make this year’s event the finest, most draw-dropping, finger-licking, tongue-sweating, eye-watering food festival Swansea has ever seen!

We have amazing things to do and see, and so many places to eat, and we have certainly missed all of them during lockdown. What we’re particularly good at is celebrating all that is great about Welsh food in the plethora of Food Festivals right across the region. What is so good about the SWANSEA STREET FOOD FESTIVAL (apart from all the yummy things to eat), is that it is completely free and a true community foodie event in every sense.
Museum Park will play host to the fourth festival, and yes, you’ve guessed it, this one will be bigger and better than ever, with so much to get stuck into, literally. It’s family-friendly and non-stop, endless foodie fun – and did we tell you it’s all FREE? And as you may know by now, we love us a bit of free here at SOUTH WALES LIFE.
We’ll tell you how to book your tickets at the end of the page, first of all, what can we see, do and eat?
Let’s give you all the ingredients you need to make this year’s festival the most enjoyable. At its most simple, you turn up, having pre-booked your slot, have fun, make sure family and friends are fed, watered and chilled (family and drinks), simple as that really.
The festival is however, split into three mouth-watering portions. and is the only way to get you in the mood for summer and of course, fill you up to the brim on all of your favourite foodie delights.
Now we would say, having heard from the organisers, that you turn up with an empty belly and get ready to taste new flavours – the world will really be your oyster, and they may even have those too.
Carnivores, veggies and vegans alike will be able to get their hungry hands on a range of Insta-worthy grub from all over the world. We haven’t forgotten that you’ll need something to tingle your taste buds and wash it all down with and luckily Pop Up Bar Hire Company have got the whole weekend covered offering all of your favourite beverages including cocktails and craft lager.
Local trader Gower Doughnut Co, London’s Two Lads Kitchen afghan wraps, and Birmingham’s Flying Cows stacked burgers are just some of the street food vendors that are attending the weekend and there are many many more both local and national vendors to be announced. We’ve searched high and low to bring you only the best variety of street food to graze on.
It’s certainly time for some well overdue enjoyment, so what are you waiting for? You’ll need to get your tickets beforehand, so you can grab a napkin, roll up your sleeves and get stuck straight in.
This year’s event will be slightly different as you’ll need a ticket to enter. But fear not, TICKETS ARE FREEEE!!! You can purchase tickets for your friends and family and even get a queue jump to pass the crowds.
This year the event is joined by a brand new sponsor, Freedom Brewery, who will be fully loaded with refreshing beers to quench your thirst all weekend long. And don’t worry, Pop Up Bar will be fully stocked, serving everything from zesty mojitos to refreshing apple juice. A word of warning, the event will be cashless so don’t forget to bring your cards (or at least someone who can pay for you).
So, whether you’re a stick to what you know, kind of eater, or a culinary adventurer, there really is something for everyone. We can’t guarantee the weather – because this is Wales after all! But from what we’ve seen, the organisers can guarantee, come rain or shine, this family-friendly event, where you can eat the most vibrant and highest quality street food that Swansea has to offer whilst sipping on a trendy tipple, is going to be a mighty delicious weekend!
The SWANSEA STREET FOOD FESTIVAL runs over this weekend of the 15th to 17th April (Easter) between 11am and 11pm each day at Museum Park. That’s a massive 12 hours of food heaven. Now the festival is FREE you just need to make sure you grab your tickets beforehand so you can get your place.
Then you just grab a napkin, roll up your sleeves and get stuck straight in. To get yours, just go here. FESTIVAL But be quick, they will be snapped up very quickly.
