In the early ’70s, Genesis’ Tony Banks, Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, Steve Hackett and Michael Rutherford redefined the concept of a rock concert with their ever-changing approach to the genre. 

We were about to say there is a bit of a Genesis revival going on right now, but the truth is, the music they created over the years is timeless and will stand the test in any era.

That unique sound of Genesis has been re-crafted for a new generation, THE MUSICAL BOX has announced their upcoming tour THE LAMB LIES DOWN ON BROADWAY, which brings them to Cardiff tonight.

The Lamb lies down on Broadway, is not only a fine rock opera, but was also the final collaborative effort between the legendary Peter Gabriel and Genesis.

There is something very special about The Musical Box, in fact, they are the only group in the world granted a licence from Peter Gabriel and Genesis. This 1975 performance in put together in painstaking details right down to the original slide show.

The world-renowned Canadian band are acclaimed for its historical re-enactment of early Genesis, and have performed for more than a million fans across the world, in some of the most prestigious venues such as the London Royal Albert Hall and the Paris Olympia. They even played host to Phil Collins as a performing guest.

Fast-forward to the 21st century where THE MUSICAL BOX, made up of Denis Gagné (Peter Gabriel), guitarist François Gagnon (Steve Hackett), bassist Sébastien Lamothe (Mike Rutherford), keyboardist Ian Benhamou (Tony Banks), and drummer Marc Laflamme (Phil Collins), deliver the ultimate homage and bring the iconic group’s sound into a new era.

THE MUSICAL BOX – THE LAMB LIES DOWN ON BROADWAY, will capture the magic of Genesis to the very last detail. Reenacting Genesis’ performances as originally presented between 1973 and 1975, this awe-inspiring tribute recreates the original shows complete with costumes, instruments, and lighting.

Using their intuitive talent and wide-reaching knowledge of the band’s history, The Musical Box promise a set that is guaranteed to take you right back to Genesis’ 1970s peak as they explore one of their most seminal alums and much more.
