It’s been a little over a month since CO.LAB transformed our shopping experience at St David’s Cardiff. Opening with a bang on September 26th, CO.LAB is the city’s newest pop-up destination, bringing the best online fashion, beauty, and lifestyle brands right to the heart of the city. Housed in the former Monsoon space, this vibrant shopping hub will feature over 80 top brands and more than 15 complimentary events and experiences.
This new pop-up micro-retail destination launched by Landsec and Lone Design Club, is designed to utilise large retail spaces and support innovative direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands. They transformed a 5,000-square-foot space into a vibrant shopping destination where over 80 brands can test, experiment, and grow.
So, almost a third of the way through it’s initial three month stay in the capital, we went to have a look around with our personal guide, CO.Lab CEO REBECCA MORTER……
CO.LAB features bespoke, shop-in-shop concession units designed to each brand’s individual style, a shared event space, and a low-cost, community-focused model to facilitate the physical retail presence of emerging brands.
They aim to revolutionise the retail experience by fostering community and providing a platform for discussion and education to help shoppers make thoughtful shopping decisions. It will do this by hosting regular, fun events to engage shoppers and enhance brand visibility.
Brands like Kina and Tam, where bold patterns, vibrant hues, and ethical craftsmanship blend to create standout looks. Oceanus, a brand on a mission to redefine swimwear and empower women.
Revolutionary denim from seventy & mochi, the UK female-led brand redefining fashion with exclusive, sustainable, and seasonless designs.
Other brands include Maja, a New Story, known for their upcycled and ethical fashion, and Elin Manon,celebrated for its artistic and nature-inspired designs. Bella Donna Atelier brings a touch of luxury with its bespoke craftsmanship, while Couca offers chic, contemporary styles.
CO.LAB offers more than just shopping. You can book personal appointments with in-house stylists and elevate your wardrobe with expert advice. If you’re looking for a moment of self-care, the store also holds rejuvenating wellness events.
