In this week’s Weird Tales Radio Show we have the concluding part of our interview with American historian Richard B. Spence on the life, times and mysterious disappearance of Sidney Reilly, the Ace of Spies – and probably Ace of Double Crossing. We also have a tale of ghostly Roundheads & Cavaliers who walk at this time of the year and we learn about the Candle in the Wind spell – yes there is an Elton John connection.
Join British lawyer turned award-winning journalist, author and sometime werewolf-hunter Charles Christian, along with co-host Janie Christian, for a one hour feast of folklore, magick and scary tales. If general off-the-wall weirdness is your thing, then the Weird Tales Radio Show has something for everyone, with its radio magazine format designed for all fans of ghosts, geek, magick, folklore, urban myths and witchcraft – but with a focus on fun and strangeness that sets it apart from other paranormal radio shows.
Just so you know, we haven’t misspelled the word. Not to be confused with stage magic. MAGICK is about utilising natural forces around us to bring about change. Magick is neutral, neither good, nor evil. The practitioner decides how they would like to focus this natural energy. Magick is a powerful tool that you can use to bring about positive changes in your life.
The host of the Weird Tales Radio Show is Charles Christian, a lawyer and Reuters correspondent turned writer, podcaster, radio DJ, and award-winning tech journalist who now writes mainly about pop culture, geek, folklore, urban myths, and the weird. He is a regular contributor on English medieval history, sorcery, demonology and folklore for the Ancient Origins website.

Janie Christian has been the co-host of Weird Tales Radio since it began in 2017, as well as a book editor for host Charles Christian. Briefly a werewolf hunter, she has a curious mind (nosey) for all things weird and geeky and a penchant for myth busting. She paints, acts, sings and does voice-overs. A one time Western Quarter Horse rider in the UK, her dream would be a trail ride through the canyons on a chestnut quarter horse. Until then she’ll seek out and investigate strange myths, paranormal craziness, bonkers folklore, peculiar happenings and anything else she think our listeners will love.

Charles best known books are the creative writing guide “Writing Genre Fiction – Creating Imaginary Worlds: The 12 Rules” and “A travel guide to Yorkshire’s Weird Wolds: The Mysterious Wold Newton Triangle.” He has a new book on folklore coming out in 2020. For two years he served as one the judges for the internationally renowned annual Arthur C. Clarke Science Fiction Literature Award. And, a UK national newspaper once commissioned him to go on a werewolf hunt!
