We are so pleased these shows have been rescheduled, they are really funny, just what we need right now.
Outside of their regular weekly Edinburgh shows at Monkey Barrel Comedy, The Spontaneous Players also get out on the road. Their shows are hilarious, a little irreverent and well – spontaneous. Their current tour is all of that, and more, as it takes a pop at Potter.
Since its inception in early 2015, The Spontaneous Players have become one of the most critically-acclaimed improv comedy troupes in the United Kingdom. In addition, Spontaneous Sherlock was one of the biggest free shows of Edinburgh Fringe 2015, 2016 and 2017 performing to over 6000 people each Fringe.
A couple of years ago, Spontaneous Potter made its debut year at the Edinburgh Fringe with Gilded Balloon, completely selling out its entire 26-night run, and winning the Scottish Comedy Award for Best Variety.

You must remember that Spontaneous Potter is an entirely improvised Harry Potter comedy play, based on an audience suggestion of a fanfiction title – with live musical accompaniment! So each show will be different and equally hilarious, depending on the audience at that performance.

Spontaneous Sherlock is again an entirely improvised Sherlock Holmes comedy play, based on an audience suggestion of a fanfiction title – with live Victorian musical accompaniment.
