FOOTLOOSE is currently on stage at the New Theatre in Cardiff till Saturday, you can check out our opening night REVIEW and take a look at our FEATURE.
It has a fine cast with former X Factor contestant (2014) and Dancing on Ice champ JAKE QUICKENDEN in the role of Willard. Stepping into the role of local minister, Reverend Shaw Moore is DARREN DAY. But filling the part made famous by Kevin Bacon in the original movie is JOSH HAWKINS.
Ren is very much an angry teenager who moves, or should we say dragged, to a small American town by his Mum, only to find that rock music and dancing are banned.
For a young actor, Josh has achieved so much. He’s performed in Jesus Christ Superstar (Regent’s Park Open Air); Jesus Christ Superstar (Barbican); Twelfth Night (U.K. Tour); Choir of Man (Norwegian Cruise Line).
So, while he’s here in South Wales, enjoying his time at the New Theatre, we grabbed him for a chat about the show, touring, his mated in the cast, and of course, the inevitable opening question – how nice is it to be back on tour after lockdown?
