While we are all dance crazy right now with the current season of Strictly, we can also celebrate the achievements of 7 year-old ELLA-MAE THOMAS from Cwmbran

Elle-Mae was at the 74th Blackpool Sequence Festival in Winter Gardens recently and came out top in a brand new category. This is the first year they have added a Under 8s section and Ella won the classical sequence event becoming a British champion and the first ever in U8.

Ella attends rhythmic dance academy which is based in Cwmbran and her teacher Jemma Battiscombe is a former British champion. Ella dances ballroom, Latin and Sequence.

She had been completing for less than 2 years and is currently 3rd (HERE) in the national league U10 in sequence and also 11th in the U12. She reached the top 12 in the U12’s in the modern Latin sequence event at the Blackpool Sequence Festival last weekend.

Ella-Mae seems to be performing out of that category too, shining in the U10 ballroom and Latin league tables. She is also currently holding the All England U8 sequence title which she won at Blackpool Tower in February.

Wales was well represented at the event with great performances from GRACIE BROWN – Blackwood, ETTIE-MAE HOLMES – Cwmbran, WILLIAM EVANS – Llanelli, EVELYN SIZER – Lianelli, CHLOE BARLOW – Llanelli, ROSIE-MAE MOODY – Crumlin, KATIE JOHNS – Blackwood, ALEXANDER EVANS and AVA FLETCHER – Llanelli, JEMMA BATTISCOMBE – Cwmbran, PHILLIP EVANS – Llanelli, FFION CROSS and RUBY WILLIAMS – Blackwood, SARA WILLIAMS – Llanelli, SEREN JONES and SARA WILLIAMS – Carmarthenshire and TAMZIN BARLOW – Llanelli.
