Next Up Academy Open Casting Call

This is your chance to join the Next Up Academy, a ground breaking performance company fusing hip hop and theatre to elevate youth voice, challenge perceptions and bring current social issues to the forefront.

This year, we’re hosting an open casting call to select a maximum of 15 young people who will form our core company for 2024/25. At the casting call you’ll have the opportunity to work with top tier facilitators from hip hop and theatre.

We’re looking for young people aged 16 – 25 who:

have a background in DJing / Graffiti / MCing / Breakin’
have a background in Music/Theatre/Dance/Spoken Word
are from a Black, Asian or ethnically diverse background
are from any other marginalised groups
If you are selected to join Next Up Academy, you will be required to commit to all rehearsals which will take place on Monday evenings 6pm – 8pm as well as occasional weekends in the lead up to the performance (27 April 2025) so please only apply if you can commit to this schedule.
