Peter Cox is the vocalist and front man of Go West. The duo won the ‘Best New Artist’ Brit Award in 1986. Their debut album included four top 20 singles and remained in the U.K. chart for over a year.
PETER COX – ‘SEAGLASS’ THE FIRST NEW ALBUM IN TEN YEARS FROM THE VOICE OF GO WEST. FEATURING FOUR CONSECUTIVE #1 HERITAGE CHART HITS – ‘TOO FAR GONE’, ‘SHE WANTS MAGIC’, ‘DREAM BURNING DOWN’, ‘CONFIDANT’ – AND THE LATEST SINGLE ‘THINGS WE NEVER DID’
‘Seaglass’ is the new album from Peter Cox, vocalist and frontman of Go West. Peter’s seventh album sees him reuniting with original Go West producer Gary Stevenson along with multi-instrumentalist John Mitchell, AKA Lonely Robot, who produces and performs on four tracks.
The sound of ‘Seaglass’ is an unmistakable mix of Peter’s unique distinct vocals and finely tuned songwriting skills. The first four singles from the album, ‘Too Far Gone’, ‘She Wants Magic’, ‘Dream Burning Down’ and ‘Confidant’ have all reached #1 on The Heritage Chart.
The songs on ‘Seaglass’ have all been written by Peter, apart from a stunning cover of American singer-songwriter Donna Missal’s ‘Jupiter’, co-written by Missal and Indie superstar Sharon Van Etten.
As the singer, co-writer and frontman of Go West, Peter has enjoyed a career spanning four decades. The duo have been behind iconic songs such as ‘We Close Our Eyes’, ‘Call Me’, ’Don’t Look Down’, ‘Goodbye Girl’, ‘Faithful’ and the ASCAP and Brit Award-Winning ‘The King Of Wishful Thinking’ from the soundtrack to the film ‘Pretty Woman’.
Alongside Go West, Peter has maintained a solo career. His eponymous debut in 1997 featured three UK top forty hits and after several independent album releases ‘Seaglass’ sees Peter working once more with Chrysalis Records, the label which released the first three classic Go West Albums.
Peter will be taking to the road in the UK in September ‘24. He and his fabulous band will perform a mix of songs from throughout his career.
