Pride Cymru is back with a two-day festival planned in Cardiff City Centre on June 22nd and June 23rd.

The parade will take place on Saturday June 22nd and road closures will be put in place to ensure that the event can take place safely.

The crowds will gather on Westgate Street before they start the parade at 11am walking up Castle Street onto High Street, then onto St Mary Street, back into the Hayes, onto St. John Street, along Queen Street, up Park Place, back along Greyfriars Road, onto Kingsway and finishing on Castle Street.

To facilitate the events that will be taking place, the following roads will be closed during the following times on June 22nd.

from 6am until midnight, the following roads will be closed:

·       Castle Street from the junction with Westgate Street

·       Duke Street.

From 8am until 2.30pm, the following roads will be closed:

Westgate Street, Quay Street, Guildhall Place, Golate, Cowbridge Road East to the junction with Cathedral Road, High Street, St Mary Street, Wood Street, Central Square, Park Street, Havelock Street and Scott Road, Lower St Mary’s Street, Mill Lane, The Hayes, John Street, Queen Street, Park Place, Greyfairs Road – from the junction with Boulevard De Nantes through to Kingsway and the Hilton Hotel Junction.

Further restrictions and access:

·       Access around Scott Road / Lower Westgate Street/ Wood Street will be maintained where and as long as possible.

·       We will aim to open Westgate Street and the side roads between midday and 12.30pm, or until the crowds disperse.

·       Fitzhammon Embankment will have restrictions in place to facilitate the buses, so parking will be restricted.

·       Greyfairs Road from Boulevard towards Park Place will be maintained one way.
