Northern Ballet are back in the capital on the final week of THE GREAT GATSBY tour. They are at the New Theatre till Saturday. To find out more about the show take a look at our feature HERE.

You can also check out our review of the production HERE.

It’s a remarkable production and one we would highly recommend for those of you that love ballet or perhaps want to take your first steps into the world.

Gatsby is a proper story and there’s no one better at storytelling than Northern Ballet, under the direction and choreography of DAVID NIXON, who has waved some special magic over this production. David left NB recently after 20 years as Artistic Director and I think it’s fair to say that without his incredible vision the company wouldn’t be delivering works such as Gatsby.

We sat down with Premier Dancer ABIGAIL PRUDAMES, who has been with Northern Ballet for 11 years now, and was actually given her opportunities thanks to David Nixon. We spoke about her time with him during our interview and also with YOKO ICHINO, Associate Director of Academy at the company, who helped develop Abigail’s talent.

We of course spoke about the production and her role as Daisy, but also how tough it was for all the company to get through Covid and hit the ground running once restrictions were eased.
