Bringing together the finest exponents of the food and drink industry under one roof and organised by Welsh Government Food and Drink Wales, BlasCymru/TasteWales is the largest food and drink trade event and conference ever to take place in the country. Showcasing the best of the nation’s fantastic produce, the event will offer an unrivalled opportunity to network with national and international industry stakeholders, with producers, buyers and food industry professionals all coming together for a busy programme of events.

This ICC Wales featured over 120 companies from the Welsh food and drink sector meeting with UK buyers. It will be the largest trade showcase and meet the supplier event. The showcase display will feature a broad range of new, award-winning innovative product categories including ‘Free From’, Welsh meat, seafood, dairy, snacks, bakery, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
We were there to meet suppliers and traders, and of course sample some amazing Welsh food and drink.
We met up with Hayden Pugh from Castell Howell Foods and Andy Mounsey, Chair of the Welsh Vineyard Association to find out just how important this event is for Welsh food and Drink.
Having built a reputation for quality and authenticity in its export offer, the Welsh food and drink sector’s supply chain continues to thrive, reaching a turnover of £23 billion in 2021. With eight of the top ten Welsh food and drink export destinations being within the EU and worth £465m in 2021, Wales is also expanding the Welsh offer to countries outside of the EU, seeing exports to non-EU countries increase to £176m in 2021 from £138m in 2020.
