This Easter, click your heels, clap your hands and enjoy an adventure Over the Rainbow as we’re off to see… THE WIZARD OF OZ at the Swansea Grand Theatre.

Matthew Revell-Griffiths Ltd presents its oz-tastic family adventure from today, through to Saturday 6th April.

Inspired by Frank Baum’s 1900 children’s fantasy novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, is a modern, magical, and mystical Easter adventure with tradition at its heart, written by award-winning Tom Whalley and directed by Jamie Steen, tells the story of Dorothy Gale and her little dog Toto, who are forever getting into trouble on the farm in Kansas.

Alongside her Aunt Em, Uncle Henry, and her three hapless farmhand friends, she dreams of travelling to a place where troubles melt like lemon drops over the rainbow. Her wish is granted courtesy of a terrible twister, which takes her far away to the magical land of Oz, where the beautiful Glinda sends her off down the yellow brick road to the Emerald City.

But hot on her ruby heels is the Wicked Witch of the West, who is bent on taking over the colourful kingdom. With the help of a scarecrow, a tin man, and a cowardly lion, will Dorothy have the brains, heart, and courage to save all of Oz and find her way home?

We went along to the theatre to meet some of the main players in the show, including DANI HARMER – yes, she is Tracy Beaker from the BBC Show. Dani is Glinda the Good. Swansea favourite, and no stranger to the Grand CERI DUPREE is the Wicked Witch of the West. Another local face, STEFAN PEJIC, who you may have seen in the Swansea panto recently is The Wizard of Oz. And filling those red shoes as Dorothy is EMILY DAY, one time member of the Pop Princesses tour, which has played in the city many times.
