The Marvel AVENGERS S.T.A.T.I.O.N. has been in Cardiff for a while now so we thought it was time SOUTH WALES LIFE went along to see what it’s all about. It came here directly from London, where it played to packed out crowds and it looks like it’ll do the same during holiday stint at St David’s Dewi Sant Shopping Centre in Cardiff.
If you don’t know much about the AVENGERS S.T.A.T.I.O.N. this is what it’s all about.
To be honest we went along as true Marvel fans, so although we are a little biased, we can safely say it is a great, interactive experience for any true, die-hard follower of the Marvel universe. Equally though, it’s just a fun, cool, fascinating place for anyone, of any age to get to see.
We took 10 year old Jake along with us but didn’t actually tell him what he was seeing till we arrived at the door. We didn’t want him getting so excited he wouldn’t tell us what he really thought. He was there with Dad Toby, who we have to say is one crazy, mad, obsessive Marvel fan. Maybe we shouldn’t have told him too?
First thing first. Let’s take you on our short tour of what’s inside. No spoilers, we promise. Nothing can compare to actually being there, seeing the costumes up-close and having your picture taken right along side them. Here’s a look at our visit.
This is not about what we saw, as I said, we loved it. So, after a very short wait, we we’re taken into the briefing room and from there, pretty much left alone to explore the entire exhibition, which is a really nice thing. There are some fantastic, interactive things to see…..
Highlights Include:
- The Thor Observatory – dedicated to Thor Odinson, King of Asgard and son of Odin. Test your worthiness by attempting to lift a simulation of Thor’s Hammer, Mjölnir, view Thor’s outfits and study the universe and its current parameters using NASA’s EYE on the exoplanets program.
- Check out Captain America’s personnel file and explore the cutting-edge science that made Steve Rogers into Captain America.
- Iron Man Engineering Bay – trainee agents have the chance to not only view Iron Man’s iconic suits but also play a virtual experience wearing Hulkbuster Armour!
